I’m a member of the Sonoma
County Beekeeper’s Association even though the extent of my involvement is to
hold the sugar water spray for my daughter Francesca while she dives into the
hive. Longing for animals on our farm, I’m momentarily content with our herd of
drones and worker bees.

In my Author’s Profile on this Blog I list as one of my
pastimes political grousing. Well, modern times have given me a lot to grouse
about given my predilection for old ways and old values, but much of my
prodding is playful. Genetic engineering, or GE, is different though. It is
scary and it is permanent. This posting will be one of many in which hopefully
I will sharpen my prod from a poke to a stiletto thrust. You, my unwitting
